How quickly can you write a suitable poem for me?
Normally our lead time is 10 calendar days from order confirmation without a Review Option (see below), but can be more or less than this. The Order Form automatically calculates a final Delivery Date, based on current workload and the availability of our 'poet in residence'.
How unique will my poem be?
The information you supply via the Order Form allows us to weave the word tapestry which is your poem. The more information, the more material we have to work with and the more unique it will be!
How do you charge?
The price of your order is a calculation based on a fixed fee, plus the number of lines of poetry you require and whether or not you wish to review the poem prior to final delivery. Pricing information is contained within the Order Form.
What is the Review Option?
For a small additional fee, this allows you to review your poem and to request minor changes if necessary, prior to final delivery. Please note that the final Delivery Date is a few days later with the Review Option than it would be without. The Order Form allows you to see what the final Delivery Date will be, both with and without the Review Option.
Also, please be aware that feedback is required within 48 hours of your receiving your draft poem, or else we reserve the right to extend the final Delivery Date.
What information do I need to supply?
In order for us to write a unique poem which is relevant to the occasion, we ask that you fill in two separate boxes on the Order Form with as much information as possible:
Background Information
Is the poem for a single individual, or for more than one person (e.g. a bride and groom)? What age group are they? Are they male or female? What sort of person are they? What type of personality do they have? What makes them laugh, cry or sing? Where are they from? What is special about them?
In the case of funerals, please tell us a little about the beliefs of the deceased and whether any mention of God or other spiritual reference would be seen as inappropriate.
Normally we will decide the emotional tone of the poem, based on the information supplied. However, you can specify this in order for us to be totally clear regarding your expectations.
Please note that not all the background information you supply is guaranteed to be included in your poem, but the longer the poem you request the more information we can look to include.
Information Poem Must Include
Please tell us the information which must go in the poem. We will advise you if the length of poem you have requested is too short for the information which must be included.
Who owns the rights to my poem?
You do! You are totally free to do what you like with your poem, as it belongs to you. So you can post it on social media, pin it to the refrigerator, or whatever!
How and when do I pay for my poem?
Will will normally respond to your order within 24-48 hours. Only when we are happy that we have all the information needed will we request payment and begin work. Payments can be made via PayPal (recommended), Bank Transfer or cheque. Payment by PayPal gives you the benefit of their protection, as well as our own guarantee.
What is the final Delivery Date?
The final Delivery Date shown on the Order Form is the date by which you are due to receive your unique poem, which will be delivered by email.
Please note that the final Delivery Date is for electronic payments only and assumes you will make payment within 48 hours of us notifying you that we are ready to go ahead. We reserve the right to change the final Delivery Date if electronic payment takes longer than 48 hours to arrive. With cheque payments we cannot confirm a final Delivery Date until the cheque has been received, presented and funds cleared. We normally present cheques to our bank within 2-3 business days of receipt. It then takes up to 5 business days for a cheque to clear.
What happens if you fail to make the final Delivery Date?
In the highly unlikely event that we are unable to deliver on time, then the following table shows the refund you will receive against the original price charged:
We will look to notify you as soon as possible regarding any delay. Please note that final Delivery Dates are based on UK time and that Saturdays, Sundays and other UK publuc holidays are included.
Can I get a refund if I do not like my poem?
If your poem has been delivered on time but you can demonstrate that what has been produced fails to match the original order, then you will be given a full refund.
Unfortunately, we cannot give a refund based on someone simply not liking a poem we produce if it matches the original order.
Please take a look at the portfolio to see whether the poems produced by our 'poet in residence' are of a style which resonates with you. If it does, then the chances are that you will be very happy with your unique poem!
Why are the rhyming verses four lines each in length?
This is because it is the easiest rhyming format to produce. Other formats are possible, but they can take longer to write and may cost more. If you would like a different format then please contact us to discuss. If we think that a different format may be more suited to the subject of the poem then we will contact you to discuss options, but if it is at our suggestion then there is no extra charge.
I have a Discount Code. How do I use it?
You may have been referred to Uniquepoems4u by another website, which gave you a Discount Code. If you have such a code, then when you fill in the Order Form you will be able to enter it. Assuming the code is valid then the relevant discount will be automatically applied.
How long does it take you to write a poem?
This varies considerably depending on the subject, the length of poem and how creative our 'poet in residence' is feeling at the time! It can take anything from half an hour to several days. Sometimes it helps to go off and do something completely different, which allows the creative juices to ferment. We offer Delivery Dates which we are confident of meeting, but please do not be surprised if your poem appears well before then!
Some poets from times past used to resort to hallucinogenic substances (e.g. Kubla Khan by Samuel Taylor Coleridge), but West Midlands Police might have something to say if we tried it!
How will my poem be delivered?
Your poem will be sent to the email address supplied on the Order Form.

Do you write poems for business marketing purposes?
Not at present. It may be considered at a later date.
Do you write poems for people outside the UK?
We are more than happy to write poems for anywhere in the world, but please bear in mind that the person writing your poem is British and that the style and language used will reflect this.
Can I visit you?
Unfortunately not, much as it's nice to sit down for a chat over tea and biscuits! This is because Uniquepoems4u is a home-based business.
